Thank you Deneumostier Willy Waf's general secretary.
Dear WAF Members,
The following is the results of the anti doping tests conducted at the 2005 World Championships in Japan.
In total 20 tests were performed with only 1 submitted sample testing positive for any banned substances.
Mr Artem Klimenko of Russia has submitted a conclusively positive test confirmed to have contained banned substances.
All review and appeals of this matter have been completed and a judgement has been rendered by the WAF Anti Doping Committee in conjunction with the WAF Executive Board.
Mr Klimenko who tested positive for: 19 Noranadrosterone,19-noretiocholanolone, 3 OH Stanozolol and Ephimethendiol has been suspended until December 31, 2006.
He must also return the 2 gold medals that were awarded to him at the 2005 World Championships.
Further Mr Klimenko will be placed at the bottom of the standings in both classes with no classification.
All persons who finished below Mr Klimenko will be moved up one position; therefore the persons who finished second and third must also return their medals in exchange for the appropriate higher placing medal.
An official awards ceremony will be held during the world championship 2006 in regard of the categories 100 kg left and right hand to award the 3 gold, silver and bronze medallists;
Hopefully this testing procedure should dissuade any other athletes from taking prohibited substances.
With the doping procedures that are now in place WAF’s goal is a level and fair competition for everyone.
